Why You Should Create an Opportunity Playbook™ For Your Company
Welcome to the UnCloned® Insider newsletter. My name is Audria Richmond®, and I am your marketing and launch strategist. I'm so excited, guys. Today is Monday, June 14, 2021, and today is my mother's birthday. I am currently in Memphis at the time of this recording, but I wanted to kinda give you all, like, some cute little travel tips, and I also wanna speak to, what today's topic is about.
Audria Richmond®:So first off, when you're traveling, and this is something that I've learned coming on this trip. When you are traveling and you are you know, you do things like what I'm doing now, recording a newsletter or, you're gonna have to be creating content on the go, you wanna make sure that you have the tools that you need to actually travel with. So right now, I bought this really cute case off of Amazon for my for my YETI microphone. I actually bought another YETI microphone. I bought a travel case, and then we also bought our printer on the go so we could print labels and ship books out while we're in Memphis.
Audria Richmond®:And then we also brought, like, what else did we put in that bag? Basically, things that oh, webcam. So things that we knew we were going to need in order to, you know, travel and not have to rush back home, but, you know, we are in the content creation business. That's a huge part of our business, so we had to make sure that we could do that because because we were gonna be gone for an extended period of time. So, anyway, wanted to give you that little travel hack.
Audria Richmond®:So if you're gonna be traveling on the go, think about everything you're going to need. Will you need your webcam? Would you need a microphone? Like, all of those different things. And if you have microphones and things like that at home that are stationary, which is what my issue was, it's okay to go and buy additional products that are gonna be used for traveling purposes only.
Audria Richmond®:Plus, I do wanna start doing more content on the go. So, hey, get your get your content travel kit up. Alright. So now let's talk about today's topic. So last week, we released a new, new a new mini course, in our shop.
Audria Richmond®:It's called, opportunity hour, how to position, package, brand, and pitch yourself for opportunities. Now this was a training that I have been wanting to get to. If you ever purchase opportunities on demand, this is basically an updated version of that. And if you never bought opportunities on domain opportunities on demand or, opportunity hour, then, you know, hey. You kinda missed out.
Audria Richmond®:But anyhoo, we redid that training. We refreshed it, and there's so many ways, that we plan to leverage this training. Number 1, we wanted to create, an asset for our store, and also an asset for you all to be able to grab and get access to, so you can start creating opportunities within your business. But the the the next reason why I wanted to create this training is because this is gonna be the exact training that we use to train our team on getting opportunities for our business. Another thing that we did with this training is that we actually, work with a professional copywriting agency to craft these done for you pitch team, templates.
Audria Richmond®:These are the same templates that we're gonna be using for our opportunity hour managers, which brings me to this topic at hand. I feel like every single person should be creating some type of a. You should be creating opportunities for yourself every single day. This is a process and a strategy that I teach my students, as well as something that we incorporate within our day to day operations. Every single hour we I mean, every single day, we dedicate an hour to the business to go out and seek opportunity.
Audria Richmond®:Right? And so if you wanna know their process, you wanna know our opportunity hour method, I highly recommend that you go and check out opportunity hour. Alright. So this next thing, before we had before we, could do the opportunity playbook, we had to make sure that we had the process documented so when we bring on a team, we could be easily supported. So one of the things that I created, which is a great companion to the opportunity hour process, is a opportunity playbook.
Audria Richmond®:Right? This is not something that, you know, is heavenly talk because this is something that I created, and invented. It is not nothing that's, like, revolutionary. You probably are already doing it into your business. You just don't call it this.
Audria Richmond®:And if you're not doing this, this is something I highly recommend. So over the weekend, I took the time to actually make a playbook. Right? And I kinda wanna read the introduction to you and then kinda wanna give you some some examples from each section just so you can kinda get a feel for what this is. Okay?
Audria Richmond®:So here's the introduction. Welcome to the opportunity playbook for Unclaimed Media LLC. The purpose of this playbook is to provide you with all the opportunities that we would like to seek and pursue as a company. Please note that we are not limited to this playbook because we are open to new opportunities that may come in the future. We would divide this playbook into various sections.
Audria Richmond®:That could be project based, company based, or upcoming. We will also have a section for opportunities that may be a good that may be a good fit for us, but they're not fully developed yet. So for instance, we have so many ideas of things that we wanna do that we know if we deploy it, it will create more opportunities, but maybe we're not in a position to actually, implement it, put it together, or deploy it. So one of the things that we did was actually put it to the side, and we was like, okay. Cool.
Audria Richmond®:We'll just come back to that. But I wanted to be in this playbook for a few reasons. We are about to start hiring and looking for an opportunity manager. Okay? Like, I know you like all of these different opportunity terms.
Audria Richmond®:So we have opportunity hour, right, which is our method for how we go and get opportunities. We have our opportunity playbook, which will be the guide that the opportunity manager will use to go and seek opportunity. Right? Now when we think about the opportunity manager, the opportunity manager should be really good at communication skills. They should know how to present, engage in presentations.
Audria Richmond®:They should know how to write email. They know know how to customize our email templates. They should know how to review my speaking intake form and be able to make decision for speaking gigs on behalf of me and Onquimedia. They should be able to conduct, introduction meetings. They should be able to go and create meetings.
Audria Richmond®:They should be able to review collaboration opportunities as well as create, collaboration, opportunities. Right? And then they should be able to respond to all emails regarding opportunities and be able to know which opportunities are good fit for us and which opportunity is a distraction. Right? So the reason I'm so big on this is because I feel like so many entrepreneurs spend so much time hoping and praying that their content is going to find them their dream client, when they could really just dedicate an hour of pitching themselves every single day.
Audria Richmond®:And, honestly, if you did that, you would you would have too much you So if you're putting put if one person can put out, I don't know, let's just say 10 to 15 great pitches every single day, right, or 3 to 5 every single day, whatever your frequency could be. Then imagine if you had 2 or 3 people doing that for you or 4 or 5 people doing for you. As you know, like, it's so many different categories. You know? In the opportunity hour training, we talk about the 5 categories that you could be pitching yourself in.
Audria Richmond®:And so if you have 5 people who are dedicated to each category, then, man, you could be making so much money. It's ridiculous. So, anyway, let's get into some of these goals so you can kinda see how it works within our thing. So we have company company based. Right?
Audria Richmond®:And this is just general general company based opportunities. Right? These are not like, you know, things that's upcoming. These are things like, we need to do this right now. Like, this is our right now goals.
Audria Richmond®:Here are the right now opportunities we wanna be able to create for our organization. So number 1, we want to increase brand awareness and explain and expand globally with audio and video interviews, ads, partnerships, and collaborations. So that mean that we are open to video interviews. However, it need to be interviews with some reach. Right?
Audria Richmond®:That's going to ex that's gonna give us more brain awareness. If we're doing a podcast interview and the podcast interview only has a reach of, you know, a 100 people, that's, yes, that's that's increasing brain awareness, but it's not gonna give us that much reach, and that's why we have to specify in our opportunity playbook. So for an example, increase brand awareness and expand globally with audio and video interviews as as partnerships and collaborations. And then you could also put in your, book, you know you know, these opportunities, right, should have a reach. Right?
Audria Richmond®:I'm typing this up in real time. Should have a reach of at least, you know, let's just say, 20,000 people. Right? That way, when certain opportunities come, you already know. If they don't have a reach of 20,000, then you already know it's a no.
Audria Richmond®:Right? And that doesn't mean that we're gonna always say no, but we at least have a benchmark that way the decision can be made. And that's another reason why you wanna create, a opportunity playbook because you wanna make it easy for your team to be able to make, decisions on your behalf. The other thing is you wanna be able to build out your email list. Like well, not, yeah, you, but let me finish telling you what's in my playbook.
Audria Richmond®:So I wanna be able to build our email list to 50k by the end of this year. I wanna build our text message list by the end of 2021. I also want to so that means let me let me let me it's so important y'all that you understand this. Right? So if I wanna get my email list to 50 k by the end of 2021, if that's an opportunity, my opportunity manager should know how to come up ideas to reach that goal and or should know how to identify opportunities in the marketplace to say, hey.
Audria Richmond®:That particular event can build our list. That particular partnership can build our list, or this is how we're going to build our list partnering with x y z. You get what I'm saying? So that's another reason why you want to have this playbook. So, anyway, I'm just giving you a snapshot of what's in there.
Audria Richmond®:There's this thing is about, 3 pages. It's probably gonna end up being 5. But we have some that's company based. We have something that's for myself personally. So right now, mine is, paid speaking gigs for Audree Richmond.
Audria Richmond®:Right? So the paid speaking gigs that I have is $5,000 plus. That means that Audreea wants to partner with people who are going to pay her speaking fee. If people pitch me and say, hey. We don't have a speaker fee.
Audria Richmond®:Guess what? It's not it's not in alignment with the opportunity playbook. Right? And we have to go and actually look at and say, okay. Is this worth our time if we're not gonna get a speaker fee?
Audria Richmond®:And then how do we exchange the value? So if I can't get a speaking fee, here go all the things that has to be a yes in order for us to consider maybe speaking for free or waiving our speaker fee. Right? Because it still has to be some level of value exchange. And so I put a list of all my speaking requirements.
Audria Richmond®:The other thing, that I have here is some personal stuff that I've been wanting to do, and I'm gonna put it on here. But I just want you to know that, like, these are some of the things that's inside the the playbook. And then we have some that's project based, meaning that we are in the process of launching it. And so it's now a project, but it's also an opportunity because we have to go and pitch for it, recruit for it, so on and so forth. So one of those things is our brand ambassador program, our our licensing program.
Audria Richmond®:We also looked at opportunities for speaking and vending and, like, what did that what does that look like? And then we also have some upcoming opportunities. So for instance, our uncloned marketing certification program, think uncloned brand awareness campaign, blah blah blah. And then we have a nice to consider. Right?
Audria Richmond®:And so we have a a list of things that we would like to do in the nice to consider. So, again, this this thing is 3 pages long. It's probably going to be expanded. And then, obviously, once we bring a team member on, it's gonna be expanded. But the beauty in all of this is that I've already created the opportunity hour training, which you can get the same exact training at arjure richmond.shop if you wanna be able to train your, person.
Audria Richmond®:Right? And then, also, if you are going to get it, I highly recommend you get the done with you email templates as well because that can jump start your person as well. It has 12 email templates. So you can have, introduction pitch, a corporate introduction pitch, business idea pitch, speaking event pitch, collaboration pitch, podcast pitch, influencer partnership pitch, licensing pitch, college curriculum pitch, PR news story pitch, bulk purchase pitch, and sponsorship pitch. So, y'all, like, I'm setting my person up.
Audria Richmond®:So if we already got the opportunity hour training, we already hired our copywriting agency to write these email templates, and we've already created our opportunity playbook. We've already wrote out the job description for our opportunity manager. We have no choice but to succeed. Now at this point, we just need to deploy this out and get it going. So my hopes for you, at the conclusion of this training is for you to go out and create an opportunity playbook, for your business.
Audria Richmond®:So even if you're not going to hire anyone, you will know what the priorities are in your business. You'll be able to know what to say yes and no to, and you can govern yourself to really make sure that you are showing up in the right places, speaking at the right places, and really saying yes to the right opportunities.
