What Types Of Marketing Is Working

Hey. Hey. Hey, UnCloned® Insiders. It is Audria Richmond®. I'm so excited to be here with you right now because today, we're gonna talk about what types of marketing is working during a pandemic.

Audria Richmond®:

Now before we dive in, one of the things that I want you guys to know is that, I've been taking time to really process what's going on, because I was just talking to my husband around, like, the need to feel like we got hustle all the time. Like, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle. And I think that when you're constantly in hustle mode you can't think. Right? You just can't think.

Audria Richmond®:

I don't care how much you need the money. I don't care what your financial situation. I don't care what bills are due. You just can't think. And when you're not thinking properly, you're not making good decisions because you're being irrational because you're like, oh, I gotta do this, I gotta do this, I gotta do this.

Audria Richmond®:

And, you know, before you know it, you're driving yourself crazy. So I kinda went through a, I guess you can say a roller coaster of doing the whole situation. So right after I sent the last uncloned insider, because, you know, in that one we talked about are you marketing yourself in the right rooms. So, like, right after that insider, that's when everything hit with the whole pandemic and the coronavirus and everything that was going on. And during that time I was just like I need to stop.

Audria Richmond®:

I need to pause everything. And I need time to think and process what's going on. And so I went through an emotion of like, oh, well, I'm not gonna sell because, you know, everybody may be, you know, needing money and everybody may need help with some stuff and so on and so forth. And so I didn't market anything. I didn't create anything.

Audria Richmond®:

And I talked to, excuse me, I talked to a lot of my friends, and we just was we just had some CEO talk. Like, you're a CEO. You can't pause. You can't be so emotionally wrapped up and tied into what's going on. Like, you have to show up.

Audria Richmond®:

And so I decided to personally take like a week or two off before I resume back to everything. Another thing that I did was I stopped consuming so many news because at first off, I'm not a news person at all. It seemed like as soon as the coronavirus things popped off, I started watching the news religiously, which is something that I don't never do. And I noticed that my mood was beginning to change and it just didn't feel good, right? And so I said, okay, well, I don't really like the way that this is making me feel.

Audria Richmond®:

So instead of me watching the news every day to try to keep up, I'm gonna watch the news once a day. And, you know, my whole emotions and mood and all of that stuff, it got better. But this is when things took a complete turn. When I stopped watching the news, period. I start, like, muting people who were talking about it.

Audria Richmond®:

I started to unfollow people who were consistently talking about it. I literally, you know, stopped going to Google and typing in coronavirus to see what was trending and news and stuff like that. I just completely stopped paying attention to it, period. And I think when I did that, it allowed me to get back to normalcy, you know, like get back to a place where I felt normal, and get back to a place where I felt like I needed to serve. And so for the past 2 weeks, I've recorded so many amazing how to tutorials.

Audria Richmond®:

I learned so many new things. I produced a lot more because I'm consuming myself in creation and creativity, more than anything. So if you're, like, you know, really trying to get yourself out of the funk with everything that's going on, Hopefully, that was insightful for you. So again, in issue 5, we're gonna be talking about what types of marketing is working during a pandemic. Right?

Audria Richmond®:

So I've been doing a lot of live streaming. So let me let me go in the order, in which I feel like has been the most effective. So number 1 would absolutely be social media. Everybody, I think one of the things that I want you all to know, and this is something that I tell my mastermind clients, this is probably the most, this is probably the best time where you're gonna get the most eyeballs. Okay?

Audria Richmond®:

So if you're not actively showing up, if you're not actively putting yourself out there right now, you know, you could take a break all day, but think about it. If the entire world is on at home, they can't go anywhere, they can't do anything. And so typically if you were gonna run Facebook ads or do any kind of marketing, you would always be talking to, you know, a small percentage of your audience because, you know it's always this rotation going on. So people are maybe, you know, raising their kids or they're working or they're working 2 or 3 jobs. And so if everybody is at home, and this is not the whole world, but majority of the people are at home.

Audria Richmond®:

A lot of people can't take their kids to school, so on and so forth. You know, this is a grand opportunity to, you know, present, you know, put yourself out there, let people know that you exist. Even if you're not gonna sell, you can still be serving, which is what I did for about 2 weeks before I started selling, some digital products that I created. And so social media, it has been super effective. So Facebook has been great.

Audria Richmond®:

Instagram has been great. I've been doing a little periscoping and so that's been great. So I would just say social media in general has been really great, during this pandemic. Number 2, email marketing. Now I would admit I don't send a lot of emails, and that's probably why y'all love me.

Audria Richmond®:

But I am definitely working towards sending more emails because it's like, you know, I had to have a, a wake up call with myself. I'm like, why are you so fatuated with building your email list if you're not gonna send emails? And so I had to pull my own card and get out of my own way and that allowed me to send more emails for my last two promotions. And it's it's crazy how much money I've been leaving on the table by not sending emails. And one of my reasons for not sending an email, and yes, as a marketer, as a person who teaches marketing, as a person who loves marketing, I would say that's probably one marketing activity where I feel like it's a little, not intrusive, but it's just like, you know, it's so uncomfortable for me and it's still uncomfortable for me, but I got out of my own way and I kept having to say the same thing that I just told you.

Audria Richmond®:

Like, what's the whole point of building an email list? What's the whole point of people subscribing to your newsletter or or your email list in general if you're not gonna send out emails. So as you all know, as I talked about in the beginning of the year, my goal was to be very consistent, you know, with sending out emails and so I think, you know, even if I'm not keeping up with my 2 week schedule I'm still sending out at least 1 to 2 emails a month which is what my goal was and then I definitely want to increase the frequency but I noticed when I did my last promotion every email I sent out brought in sales. So it's kinda like you've been leaving all of this money on the table because you don't want to, you don't wanna deal with the unsubscribes. You don't wanna deal with the people who, you know, download your freebies and opt right back out.

Audria Richmond®:

Like, you know, all of these really stupid reasons why, you know, I hadn't been really doing that. So I would say number 2, email marketing. So I think that was an eye opener for me so I'm definitely gonna spend more time sending out more emails, because they are effective. You all do love the emails. You do reply to my emails.

Audria Richmond®:

You do tell me how much you love them. But I think that, you know, like all things, we spend too much time on stupid stuff. So for me, I spend way too much time focusing on the people who are gonna unsubscribe or, you know, whatever the case may be instead of serving the people who actually want to hear from me. So I would definitely say email marketing is still on and popping. Number 3, live streaming.

Audria Richmond®:

As you all know, I am the original live stream queen. I love, love, love, love live streaming. Like, that's probably my my go to marketing strategy because I feel like there's no other form of marketing that allows you to get in front of an immediate live audience. It's like creating your own stage on demand. So, live streaming has been a super duper amazing thing.

Audria Richmond®:

If you're on my email list and if you've been paying any attention, I've talked about how to stream to Instagram from your desktop. I've talked to my my my UnClone Marketing membership members, and they were like, bruh, you should've charged for that. So so if that video is still floating around, you might wanna go find it, before I take it down or keep it up. Who knows? But I'm in a given state, so y'all need to be consuming everything I'm putting down.

Audria Richmond®:

Okay? And number 4, ads. My ads have been really doing amazing during this time. Like, I've built my Instagram following over 9,000 people in 2 weeks. It's crazy.

Audria Richmond®:

And I'm running a very simple ad, and I'm getting a lot more engagement on my Instagram stories and stuff like that. I will add another one. It's a part of social media, but it's probably one of the underutilized one. Stories. People love a good story.

Audria Richmond®:

Okay? So get in the habit of utilizing your stories and letting telling people to use stories and tag you. And so you have Facebook stories and you also have Instagram stories. They both work the same way. People can see your story.

Audria Richmond®:

They can reply back to your story and, you know, you can get the conversation popping and possibly move someone into a sale or a sales call or just network and get to know the people you're connected to.
