I am back with another audio newsletter, and I'm excited to talk about how to help your dream clients find you faster. Alright? When creating a marketing campaign, the first step is usually, okay, identifying your target audience. You've likely heard this before, but whether you're just starting out in business or you're looking for a more effective way to connect with your ideal clients, there's something more important than demographics relating to their situation. In my book, Unclown Marketing, I introduced the concept of the target situation, which shifts the focus from traditional target audience metrics like age, you know, reading habits, location, things like that, to understanding the situations your clients find themselves in.

Audria Richmond®:

When demographics even though demographics are useful, they only tell part of the story. The target situation framework that I've created allows you to dive deeper focusing on the circumstance and the situation that your client is in. So when they're ready to work with you, you're the obvious choice. Right? When you align your marketing with their situation and their experience, they know for a fact that, like, oh, this is my person.

Audria Richmond®:

Your potential clients can clearly see how your solution fits their needs and make it easier for them to choose you. I'm gonna share 2 examples that will illustrate how this, you know, target situation works. And, ultimately, by the time we conclude with this audio newsletter, you will know how to identify exactly who your target person is and how to get in front of them. Not by who they are and how old they are and what their race is and where they're located and all of that. No.

Audria Richmond®:

No. No. No. No. We're gonna stick to what's the actual situation they're in right now.

Audria Richmond®:

Alright? Actual situation they're in right now. Alright? So I'm gonna give you 2, scenarios. The first one I wanna go over is the one that we utilize for my book.

Audria Richmond®:

So if you want it, head over there now. Alright? So with the target situation, right, think of the situation as like what they what is what are they experiencing right now?

Audria Richmond®:

Right? So for instance, I know for a fact that when I wrote my book, people wanna learn how to market, how to get more clients, how to get more customers, how to become the obvious choice of their industry, how to be noticed, how to, compete in a competitive landscape when everybody is copying each other. How do I stand out? Right? And so I knew that to be true for my audience.

Audria Richmond®:

Right? So with that being said, I was like, well, what kind of situation would they be in right now? Like, what would they be dealing with right now? What would what would they be going through? Right?

Audria Richmond®:

And so these are 8 situations that I knew for a fact about my target audience. Now you can go deeper with this. You can make, you know, more than 10, more than 8. It's totally up to you. But this should give you a general idea of how this works.

Audria Richmond®:

Right? So these are the the the 8 situations that I came up with, the the 8 target situations that I came up with based on my book. So number 1, they're not able to get clients. Number 2, they don't know how to market themselves or their product or service. 3, they have never launched a marketing campaign.

Audria Richmond®:

4, their revenue is very inconsistent or very unpredictable. 5, business is in a very saturated market and don't know how to stand out. Like, that's like the top of the top of the top. Like, we lead with that that situation probably more than anything because when people come to us, they typically you know, a lot of the times, most people sell the same stuff. And so when you're out in the marketplace trying to, you know, let people see why you're different and why you're the obvious choice, sometimes if your messaging is not clear, you can lose, you know, that person because they're just like, well, what makes you different?

Audria Richmond®:

And so that's something that we really focused on. So, again, I'm a repeat that one. Business is in a is in a very saturated market and don't know how to stand out. Number 6, don't know how to be creative when it comes to marketing. Number 7, don't really understand how to create creative offers.

Audria Richmond®:

Not any offers, creative offers. And number 8, they're drowning in success and need support with expanding team capacity and etcetera when it comes to marketing. So a lot of times people come to me, they are really trying to figure out, like, how do I, you know, how do I go about working with a marketing person? Like, if I hire a marketing assistant, a marketing manager, a CMO, things like that. What am I looking for?

Audria Richmond®:

How do I know if I have that person? And so we now have a certification program where we train up, consultants, service providers, and marketing professionals, creative people on how to become an uncloned marketing pro. And in that certification program, we teach our people from a to z. We don't just teach them. We train them to make sure that they understand, you know, what's going on and we test.

Audria Richmond®:

Right? So there's a rigorous process to become a Unclo marketing pro. But once you become 1, which we now have one, I cannot wait to give her her proper introduction to the public, but I'm so excited about, our new Unclown Marketing Pro. Like I'm so excited about it. So anyway, that's the target situation.

Audria Richmond®:

Alright? So let me give you another example from another industry. So I used to work with a client that worked in the childcare industry. Okay? So think of like early childhood care, so on and so forth.

Audria Richmond®:

And so I had her do this exact same situation, like this same exact exercise. Like, hey, write down all the situations in which someone would need you. Right? And this is the list that we came up with. Number 1, advanced education.

Audria Richmond®:

So this particular parent is looking to put their child in childcare where their child will be able to learn, read, and work faster than normal. Number 2, the parent currently dislike their current service provider. Right? The next thing, they may be new to the area. Maybe they just moved to the area in which the childcare facility exists and they're going to Google and they're saying childcare near me or, you know, that kind of thing.

Audria Richmond®:

Right? Their grandparents, are taking care of them. Right? And they need a place to take the kids when the grandparents aren't available. The mom has to go back to work, so the mom just had the child.

Audria Richmond®:

Now it's time to go back to work. Right? People who want to advance their child education because they're not learning or advancing in school. So a lot of people are like, no. My child is gonna be number 1, blah blah blah blah blah.

Audria Richmond®:

That's why someone would enroll that particular child in that particular, you know, pro business. Right? Summer reading and math law, so the the child is not retaining what they're learning. That's why they would reach out and want that support. And people who are new to enrolling their child into childcare just for the first time.

Audria Richmond®:

So maybe they've never put their child in childcare. They don't know the process. They're new to, you know, meeting the schools and doing tours and stuff like that. And so they're trying to familiarize themselves with the process. Right?

Audria Richmond®:

And so I just gave you 2 different situation I mean, 2 different scenarios. So the first scenario was when we first started selling my book on clone marketing. Those situations still ring true to this day when we're looking at the target situation for our clients. And then I gave you a private client example who owns a childcare facility. So that should give you two examples of how you would use this.

Audria Richmond®:

So what do you do? So now that you heard the 2 situations I mean, the 2, scenarios, you now understand, like, oh, this is a pretty cool exercise. What are you gonna do? Let me give you the task. Right?

Audria Richmond®:

You're gonna write down 10 situations in which someone will need your products or services right now. By asking yourself this question, it requires you to think about why people need you. When you understand why people need you, it becomes easier to create effective marketing campaigns, marketing messages, content, and compelling offers. So let me go back to, my example. Right?

Audria Richmond®:

The example that I just told you about, you know, for myself. Right? Like, how does this work when I did my book launch? Right? So one of the biggest issues, right, let's go with the the one that that's a big deal.

Audria Richmond®:

Right? So number 5, businesses in a very saturated market and don't know how to stand out. A lot of the times, people offers in their marketing itself is not different. They market just like their competitors. They talk just like their competitors.

Audria Richmond®:

They look just like their competitors. And so if I wanted to target a person who was dealing with that particular situation, I could literally create a class called how to, you know, how to how to build a brand that no one can can copy. Right? Something like that. Or, like, how to become the the obvious choice of your industry masterclass or something like that.

Audria Richmond®:

Or how to never get overlooked again ever, masterclass or audio newsletter or whatever. Right? You will notice that the marketing is calling out the situation, which in essence, people are going to raise their hand. I could take it a notch up and be a little bit more vague and be like, hey. You need help with marketing, getting more clients and customers?

Audria Richmond®:

That's a pretty generic situation. But if I say, if you in the beauty business and you are in and you help people, grow their hair naturally and you're not able to find clients who need locks for an example, I mean, who want to get locks done, You know, like, I can create my marketing around that particular situation. So you see how the situation goes a lot deeper on the core problem. So, you know, when we when we say our marketing message, we're like, hey, come to us when you want to build an uncloned brand or launch profitable marketing campaigns. That's top level.

Audria Richmond®:

That's like to the masses, everybody hear that. But when people come to work with us, we use our uncloned brand framework to work with our clients through those different things to achieve that. So if they're just coming to us to launch a profitable marketing campaign, we're gonna recommend the launch circle and the uncloned launch system. On the flip side, if we're like, hey, how do I build an uncloned brand? We're not only just gonna help you with your marketing and launching, we're gonna help you with your offers and your content, your opportunity and your publishing.

Audria Richmond®:

So this all of that is a part of building an unclown brand. And so hopefully, this audio newsletter, gives you a little insight on how you can approach it because when you understand this, your marketing message is going to drastically improve and you're gonna start to see people engage with you because they're like, oh, that's the exact thing I'm dealing with. This is why if you all are, like, conducting 1 on 1 calls or if you're talking to people or if you're taking intake forms, people are already telling you what their situation is. Like if you ask the question of like, you know, what's the number one thing you want to achieve in the next 3, you know, in the next what's the top three things you want to achieve right now? What's keeping you from achieving it right now?

Audria Richmond®:

Like they're telling you their situation. And so you can create marketing around that to handle the objection and get them into working with you.
