How To Build Authentic Relationships With Your Community
Hello, UnCloned® Insiders. It's Audria Richmond®, your marketing and launch strategist. I'd like to welcome you back to Unclone Insider audio newsletter. You are now tuning in to issue number 2, which is all about how to build authentic relationships with your community. So, one of the reasons I wanted to talk about this topic is because I feel like in 2020 is all about deepening our relationships with our communities, with our peers, even with our significant others and our spouse and so on and so forth.
Audria Richmond®:Because everybody is, like, glued to their cell phone and everybody is being very passive around their interaction and people are just looking to be heard, to be seen, to be acknowledged. And, when we think about social media, it's always been this this setup where I have a lot of followers, you follow me, and you look at what I say, I don't check you out. And I feel like a lot of that is coming to an end. I actually wrote an Instagram post about it and I got a lot of great feedback on it. A lot of people agree with me.
Audria Richmond®:If you're not following me on Instagram, what are you waiting on? Head over to Instagram and follow at Audria Richmond. That's a u d r I a, Richmond, r I c h m o n d. And the quote that I said was, if you want to dominate with your marketing in 2020, focus on building a connection and relationship with your audience. The days of how dope I am, like, look at how dope I am with no human interaction with your tribe, it's over.
Audria Richmond®:It's not about you, boo boo. And this particular post has over 500 likes, a ridiculous amount of shares and direct messages, and it's crazy because that just let me know that people resonate with that. So, it made sense for me to talk about that this week because of the engagement there and a lot of people were like, thank you, somebody's finally talking about it. So, if you're wondering, well how do I do that? I have a couple of tips and strategies for you.
Audria Richmond®:Also, in your email, I am going to link to the IGTV video that I did, the other day which is all about, how to leverage your time if you work a 9 to 5. So you're gonna see a little sprinkle of different tips and strategies throughout, you know, the audio newsletter, also inside of the actual email. So make sure you check out the entire email, if you haven't had an opportunity to do that. So let's jump into the tips. So number 1, the first thing you can do immediately is just start back replying to people.
Audria Richmond®:Do you know that a reply, like somebody saying hidden reply and typing in something to their phone or on the computer is probably one of the deepest, levels of engagement next to a share? Like, sharing is also a great level of engagement, but when somebody take the initiative to stop what they're doing, log into whatever platform they're using, and leave a comment to you, I think is only fitting for you to reply back to them. Now, it's gonna be some days where you're not gonna be able to do that based on how big of your following is or how small your following is. But the truth of the matter is it doesn't take any time to acknowledge someone and say, hey. Thank you so much for commenting.
Audria Richmond®:I really appreciate you. Blah blah blah. This could be replying to people on your blog. This could be replying to people who leave a comment or say something on your Instagram post. This could be your Facebook stories.
Audria Richmond®:This could be your Instagram stories. This could be your Facebook post. There's a lot of places for people to leave comments and I think it's only fitting for you to acknowledge them and respond to them. And if you're one of those people who are just like too busy then maybe you might wanna put a community manager in place, someone that can support you in that effort. Because if you can begin to reply back to people and just say something that goes a lot further than not saying anything.
Audria Richmond®:The next thing you can do is start sending messages to people who engage with your brand. So if there's someone that's like always engaging with your brand just start sending them a message like hey I noticed that you are always engaging with my content. Is there anything I can support you in? Do you have any questions? I just want you to know that I acknowledge you, I appreciate you, and I really love the support that you've given me and my brand.
Audria Richmond®:And I wanna know is there anything I can do to support you? Like, that will go a long way. Can you imagine someone that you've been actively engaging with for the past couple of years reach out and reply to you and say something like that? I'm quite sure that goes like really really deep with you. Also, you know, I wanna say this before I move into the next, tip is you have to factor in the age of customer service.
Audria Richmond®:If people don't feel valued, they're gonna go shop with other people, they're gonna go work with other people. The reason that my clients work with me for so long is that I am a woman of my word, I do what I say I'm gonna do, and I'm also I have a lot of integrity on how I work with my clients. And so when you think about customer service, customer service is not just about when somebody buy a product or service from you, customer service is also your interaction and how you engage with people on social media. The next tip I would like to give you guys is give away something to your superfans. So, often times, at least a lot last year I did a lot of giveaways and I gave away a lot of different things and so I'm definitely going to be giving away some things this year.
Audria Richmond®:But giveaways is a is a great way to show people that you actually care about what they got going on. It's a great way to engage with your community. It's a great way to show your appreciation. So giving away something is a great way to build an authentic relationship and connection with your audience. The next thing is including your audience in helping you make a decision.
Audria Richmond®:So if you need to make a big decision like the name of your book or the brand colors or an idea that you're working on, the best way to get your community involved is to, you know, put that question on social media and let it rip. Now I will say this, when someone leaves, you know, a comment or engagement and things like that you don't have to take them for face value, you're actually including them in that. And there's been plenty of times where I've gotten good names for things, names for products or services and things like that. Even, you know, when we think about unclown life it was because someone reached out to me and was like, oh you're unclown and I just took it and ran with it. So you definitely wanna be able to include your audience in on your brand because they can support you and help you because they are the closest one to your brand, they're already engaging with your brand, they They already love your brand.
Audria Richmond®:So let them help you make a decision. And the next one, this is the final one, is having great support channels. So, oftentimes, we think that, oh, I just wanna have email support. I don't want people knowing my number, I don't want people knowing my address, I want people knowing how to get in contact with me, so on and so forth. That's what the PO box is for.
Audria Richmond®:I personally use a service called ScentHub so I don't have a problem with putting my number out on social media because it's already attached to an actual service. And so this is a good way to do that. One person that's doing like, really going in with this is Gary v. I cannot think of the the the the guy that was doing it first. He has like a text message service.
Audria Richmond®:I can't think of his name, but Gary Vee, if you start to look at some most of his social media posts and content, he's starting to drop his phone number a lot. And that's a good way to let people know, like, oh, wow, I can actually text you or I can actually ask you a question or I can actually raise my hand and you're gonna see me. And that's really what all of this is about. Making sure that people are seen, making sure that people are heard, and making sure that people are actually understood. And, again, you wanna focus on this because it's going to allow your audience to develop a deeper relationship with you.
Audria Richmond®:I can see this increasing your referrals. I can see this really blowing your business up because most people aren't thinking about their audience. They're just thinking of a passive way to just grow a whole bunch of followers with no heart, no emotion, no anything. So that's all I got for this particular audio message. Leave me a comment below in the comments and let me know what was your biggest takeaway, which one of these tips and strategies are you going to deploy immediately in your business.
