Audria Richmond®:So if you're interested in joining us, you could definitely click the button below wherever you may be listening to, this newsletter. Also, if I sound a little hoarse, it's because I've been talking for over 12 hours. So, I definitely wanted to make sure I got this audio newsletter out, so bear with me. Today, I wanna talk about creating a business model that works for you and not for your coach or your industry. So oftentimes, when we think about our business models and how we wanna make money, it's very easy for us to look at the most successful person and see exactly how they're doing business.
Audria Richmond®:So for instance, if you see someone and you like the fact that they make all their money from events, then you're gonna do events. If you like the fact that they do they make all of their money from courses, then you're gonna create a course. If you like the way that someone is running a high ticket program, so you're gonna create a high ticket program. If someone has a mastermind, you're gonna create a mastermind. Someone has, you know, a a mini course, you're gonna sell a mini course.
Audria Richmond®:If someone is selling digital products, you're just gonna go to digital route. And I could just tell you firsthand that, like, following what your coach is doing, following what your industry is doing is not always the wave. And it's it's amazing that I have experimented with, like, so many different business models, not because I was confused, but because I just kept getting sold on, you know, so many different ideas of what my business should be like. And I recently, this year and, you know, year 2021, I recently just said, you know what? What kind of business model do you want?
Audria Richmond®:Right? And, you know, if you've listened to any of my stories or if you've ever heard me speak, that's pretty much how unclean life even came about. Right? I remember one day I said I was gonna make a course, and I was like, I wanna know, you know, what would I do, right, without seeking the approval of other people? Like, what what what would make sense for me?
Audria Richmond®:Right? And so once I decided that this is exactly what I wanna do and, like, this is how I wanna do me, that's when I started to create, you know, courses and things that felt good to me. Then somewhere along the line, you know, as I started to make more money in my business, I kinda got morphed back into doing what, you know, my coach would say or what the leaders of of programs I was in saying. And I think it's important to honor how you feel, and I think it's important to honor what you wanna do. So I've come up with 5 things to think about, you know, as you're designing your business model, as you're thinking about what makes sense for you and your business.
Audria Richmond®:But, again, you wanna make sure that, yeah, your coach might be telling you to do a 12 week program, but maybe you wanna do a 3 week program. Maybe you wanna do a 1 week program. Maybe you wanna do a one day program or 2 hour program. Like, you can pretty much design whatever you want. And I think that, you know, we you you look at what is going on and you think to yourself, like, man, you know, why am I doing what the industry say I have to do?
Audria Richmond®:Why am I doing this? Right? And all of it all of it boils down to do you trust yourself. Right? Are you honoring yourself?
Audria Richmond®:Are you honoring, what it is that you wanna do? Right? So I wanna go over number 1. Right? So number 1 is how do you like to serve?
Audria Richmond®:Right? Do you wanna serve live? You know, like, I wanna only do live experiences. You know, people gotta show up at a date and time, and then it's over. Or do you like doing prerecorded?
Audria Richmond®:You know what? I don't really like being live in front of people, so I'm gonna go to prerecorded route. Right? Or do you like a hybrid? Like, I love hybrids.
Audria Richmond®:I love being able to or more or more examples. I love prerecording those things, and I like being live in the moment, for things that I can teach right there in real time and get feedback. So I personally like hybrid, but I've also have things that are completely prerecorded, and I also have things that were completely live. So there's no right or wrong. It's really about your personal preference and what you wanna do.
Audria Richmond®:Right? Do you like doing things that are short term or long term? Right? I think oftentimes when we're developing our business models, it's our it's this thought process that, like, if I wanna charge a lot of money, I gotta work with somebody a whole year. And I could just tell you from experience from running our accelerator, obviously, just run us running a publishing like a pro.
Audria Richmond®:Like, I didn't work with anyone for a very, very, very long time. You know, for the accelerator, I didn't work with anyone for more than a month unless they joined our mastermind. And for publishing like a pro, I didn't work with any I'm not working with anyone for more than 4 days. So when you think about these different business models, like, it's important for you to think about, like, how long do you want, your programs to be and how long do you wanna actually work with people. Right?
Audria Richmond®:Number 2, and this is super important. How much access do you want people to have to you? Right? So do you only like to serve in a group? Do you only like to serve 1 on 1?
Audria Richmond®:Do you wanna be able to prerecord and people get access to you on demand? Or more advanced, would you like someone else to teach and facilitate on your behalf? Right? You know, do you wanna have coaches? Do you wanna have people who are certified in your process?
Audria Richmond®:Like, what is it that you want when you think about access? Maybe you don't wanna be involved at all. Maybe you just wanna be the person that designed it and invented it and, like, pay someone to do it for you. So just keep that in mind. Okay?
Audria Richmond®:Alright. Number 3. How much money do you wanna make, and why do you want to make the money? Now this one, oh my god. This one is a big deal because I know for me, I kept saying, like, I wanna make a $100,000 a month.
Audria Richmond®:I wanna have, you know, I wanna have $100,000 a month. And now that I'm having $100,000 a month, I'm questioning why. You know? Is it to let people know you can as possible? Yeah.
Audria Richmond®:But on the deep, deep, deep, deep level, do you need it? And if so, where is it going? Like, money has to have a place. Excuse me. Money has to have a place.
Audria Richmond®:Money has to go somewhere. Right? So you have to ask yourself, where is this money going? Why do I want this much money? You know?
Audria Richmond®:Where do I plan to distribute this money? Maybe I'm just gonna distribute this money, in my home, in my household. Maybe I wanna save this money. Maybe I wanna reinvest this money. Maybe I wanna help someone.
Audria Richmond®:Like, get clear on not just how much money you wanna make, but, like, what are you gonna do with it when you actually get it? Number 4, are you doing the way that you are told to do it, or are you doing it the way that you wanna do it? Right? I think that, again, going back to what I was saying earlier, oftentimes, when we are learning something let's just say you wanna learn how to make a course. You take a program on how to create a course, and that person is a big advocate for 12 month programs.
Audria Richmond®:But you know you don't like working with people for 12 months or you don't want to work with people for 12 months, yet you go and develop a 12 month program where you you're doing what you're told and not what feels good to you. You know you really wanna do 4 week programs, but you're not honoring that because you respect what you're being taught. And I think that there's kinda like this dance between, you know, do I like this or I don't like this? Or, you know, I wanna do what's what I'm being told, but I wanna make sure it's right. And there's nothing more right on this planet than honoring yourself and honoring what it is that you wanna do.
Audria Richmond®:So I think it's very important for you to get clear on, are you doing it because this is someone this is what someone told you had to you had to do it this way, or the industry said you had to do it this way, or you're doing this because you're you're doing it in a way that feels absolutely authentic to you and it feels good to you. Okay? Number 5, how do you want to feel? Right? How do you wanna feel?
Audria Richmond®:Do you wanna feel good? Do you wanna feel excited? Do you wanna feel proud? What type of container do you need to create in order to show up your best self? Right?
Audria Richmond®:For me, I have learned that I like working really, really deep with people. I like going really, really fast, and I also like to do it in a short period of time. Right? So, you know, the accelerator was 4 weeks. Publishing like a pro was for 4 days.
Audria Richmond®:But when you think about, like, the accelerator was still, you know, 10 to 12 hours worth of content. Publishing like a pro was still 12 hours worth of content. So you're still getting what would it be equivalent to, like, 6 week, 12 week, or even 12 month program. Right? But I'm doing it in a way that feels authentic to Audrea.
Audria Richmond®:So I really do hope that you found value, in this newsletter. I hope that, you do what feels authentic to you.
