5 Reasons Why I Love Courses

So we are about to have a really good time today because I just finished recording my latest course. And I realized after today, and not just today, but just, like, I guess it's been heavy on my spirit because I realized how much courses give me back more time. I really wanna go into 5 reasons why I love courses and why I feel like everyone needs a course. Because when you think about, you know, especially if you're a service provider. And and, you know, if you sell a product, you can also make courses as well.

Audria Richmond®:

But, you know, when you are a service provider, all you're doing is selling your time. That's it. Right? You're you're only you can only grow as far as your capacity. So even if you charged a premium, even if you charged, you know, someone a $100,000, right, you can only make as much money as you have time for.

Audria Richmond®:

Right? And, obviously, if you wanna scale that, you have to hire more people, build a bigger team, and it really just depends on if you want that level of responsibility. If you do, great. More power to you. But but for some of us, we really wanna figure out a way to scale our expertise, buy back some of our time.

Audria Richmond®:

And the only vehicle that I have found to really do that is products, like books, workbooks, worksheets, things like that. But courses because courses can go deep, you can cover a whole array of different topics and subjects. You can demonstrate different things on on video. You can show things. It allows for tech.

Audria Richmond®:

You can be direct to camera. Like, there's so many ways, that you can record a course. But the five reasons why I love, love, love courses, hopefully, you have your unclown notebook. And if you don't, grab your unclown notebook because, you know, around here, we take notes in style. But you definitely wanna go over you know, I definitely wanna go over these 5 reasons why.

Okay. Five reasons why I love courses. So number 1 is on demand. One of the things that's becoming more and more important for me time and time again is my time, right? And I don't have an unlimited amount of time between being a wife, being a mom, running a business, spending time with family, and wanting to attend to my own personal projects, I don't have a lot of time.

Audria Richmond®:

Right? I just don't have a whole lot of time. And so the thing that is important to me currently is my time and really wanted to serve a skill. And I can't do that if I'm doing, you know, private coaching, 1 on 1 calls and things like that. That's one of the reasons why I have wait listed those services because, you know, I want to be able to have more time for my projects.

Audria Richmond®:

I wanna have time for my mastermind clients and so on and so forth. So for me, I'm transitioning more so into a stage where I wanna serve at scale. And so for me, I love the fact that people can take my courses on demand. I love that people can, you know, look at it and learn whenever they feel like it. So if they wanna come to my shop at 2 o'clock in the morning and buy a training, they can do that and dive in and get what they need.

Audria Richmond®:

In an hour or so, they they've learned a skill or something new. And so for me, being able to provide something on demand for people that's not time restricted. Right? Like, I don't have to worry about, are you available next week at 5? Or even if I want to turn this course into a workshop, I don't have to look at my schedule and be like, well, you know, I really can't do this training until, like, 3 weeks from now because that's my next available Saturday.

Audria Richmond®:

Like, the cool thing about courses that when you create them, they live on forever, right, until you have to update it or to the content becomes outdated or whatever happens first. Right? Or you may decide you don't wanna get into it, but, like, I mean, you know, continue to do it. But at the end of the day, you're creating an asset that lives on beyond you, that people can access on demand. So that's number 1.

Audria Richmond®:

Number 2 is one too many. You know? As I stated previously, I it's only it's only so many hours in a day, and I love the fact that 5 people can buy it or a 100000 people can buy it, and I can have just about the same amount of impact. So I absolutely love that. Number 3, right, and this is something that I don't think a lot of people think about when they're creating courses, but you can actually take your course and leverage it for your team and vendors.

Audria Richmond®:

So one of the things that, we're working on right now is putting a opportunity manager in place in our organization and in our company, because we're going to be putting an opportunity manager in place. I'm a have to teach them how to conduct opportunity hour. Right. So this the new course that we just recorded, that's fresh off the press that we're about to release. And so as I'm thinking about this course, I'm thinking about like, oh, I need this opportunity manager.

Audria Richmond®:

Another thing we're about to put our licensing program together as well as our brand ambassador program. Well, guess what? This program partnership person, the opportunity manager, they cannot pitch for us, do brand ambassador, you know, reach out and get our brand ambassadors or secure licensing deals if they don't even know how to conduct opportunity hour, which is our signature process that we teach entrepreneurs and small business owners and really anyone who wants to be able to create opportunity for themselves 1 hour at a time. Right? So we teach you how to dedicate 1 hour every single day on how to locate, how to create opportunities, how to find opportunities, how to pitch your projects.

Audria Richmond®:

That's what we teach opportunity hour. And so if I'm going to bring on a new person to help me in my company, then I need to be able to show them step by step how to actually conduct opportunity hour. And the best way to do it is to create a course. To get all the resources together, to get all the worksheets together, to get all the tools together, create it one good time. And not only can my clients and customers and partners benefit from that, but also the our team, our internal team can benefit from that.

Audria Richmond®:

So that's a really cool way. Number 4 is a little bit advanced. You know, if you're not thinking like this, this may not be of interest to you, but you can actually license your course, right? So someone might come to me, you know, when you buy a course from me, it's a single license, meaning you're the only one that can use it. However, if you are a coach and you want your clients to be able to see it or you want your team to be able to see it, then now we're talking about this turning into a licensing opportunity.

Audria Richmond®:

And so you would have to pitch us. You have to reach out to our licensing department and say, hey, can we license out this course for X amount of time? And then we would negotiate a licensing deal on how you can use it. So a lot of people that's, you know, one huge opportunity that a lot of people don't even think about because they're so busy trying to sell to consumers. But you could totally license your content out to different corporations and brands and things like that.

Audria Richmond®:

And number 5, and this is something I absolutely love it for as well. And this is another area that I don't think people think about when they're creating courses. It's like using your courses to train and prep people pre and post consulting and coaching. So an example of this is that when we do VIP days, there's set trainings that's in my shop that I give away for free depending on the scope of the VIP day. So if I'm meeting with a client or like, hey, I wanna learn how to launch, I wanna learn you know, I I want you to help me create my plan for the year or whatever the case may be.

Audria Richmond®:

9 times out of 10, I probably have a course or training on that topic. And so what will happen is I will give them access to that training, to be able to watch. And by the time we do our VIP day, I now have an educated client who's coming to the call so they can get the most out of their call because I've given them a training, showing them step by step how they can, you know, how they can train and set not train and set up how they can learn, whatever it is that we're going to be discussing. So if we're doing a book launch and I give you my book launch case study, then you already know what the deal is. You already know what it what's required and what it takes.

Audria Richmond®:

So those are the five reasons why I absolutely love courses. Just to recap, number 1, on demand. You don't have to schedule back and forth time. People can learn on demand. Number 2, you're serving one too many, right?

Audria Richmond®:

You can serve as many people as humanly possible. And then number 3, you can use it to train your team and vendors. Number 4, it can you can use it to license out to companies and brands and coaches and consultants and other people, in your industry. Number 5, it can be leveraged for private coaching and consulting. And I'm a give you a bonus one.

Right? I'm a give you a bonus one. You can actually certify people in your process utilizing your courses. So, y'all, I don't know any other asset that gives you so many benefits other than a book or a planner or other tools like that. So I would definitely definitely definitely, work on creating a course if you don't already have that.

Audria Richmond®:

Get your IP portfolio up. That's super important as a small business owner, and as a business owner or entrepreneur. And I'm just excited about today's topic because, you know, I get to benefit all the time from the residuals, of course, that I've created 2 3 years ago. You know, I I make sales every day in my shop from stuff I created 2, 3 years ago. So definitely don't sleep on that.
